We’ve got our hands on the Huawei Watch GT 7 Pro in Pine Green, and before we dive into the full review, let’s take a closer look at what’s inside the box and what’s changed on the outside.
Unboxing the Huawei Watch GT 7 Pro
The unboxing experience remains familiar for anyone who has used a Huawei wearable before. Inside the box, you’ll find the watch itself, along with Huawei’s proprietary magnetic charging puck. The puck connects via a wired USB-A cable, which is the only accessory included. While we were hoping for a detachable USB-C connector by now—it would certainly make travel easier—it seems we’ll have to wait another year for that convenience.
Design and Build: Subtle Refinements
At first glance, the GT 7 Pro looks very similar to its predecessor, the GT 6 Pro. However, Huawei has made some subtle but meaningful tweaks that elevate the overall aesthetic.
Color-Matched Bezel
The most noticeable change is the new screen bezel. In a departure from previous models, the bezel is now color-matched to the watch strap. This creates a more cohesive and premium look, especially on the Pine Green variant we have here. The green bezel blends seamlessly with the strap, giving the watch a unified appearance that stands out in a crowd.
Materials and Comfort
While we’ll save the deep dive for the full review, the build quality feels solid and comfortable on the wrist. The materials appear to be durable, and the watch maintains a lightweight feel despite its rugged looks. We’ll be testing how it holds up during workouts and daily wear.
Display and Interface
Huawei has always been strong in the display department, and the GT 7 Pro looks to continue that trend. The screen is bright, crisp, and responsive, though we’ll run our usual tests to see how it performs under direct sunlight and in low-light conditions.
What’s Next?
This is just a first look, so stay tuned for our comprehensive review where we’ll cover battery life, health tracking accuracy, software experience, and more. For now, the GT 7 Pro is shaping up to be a promising addition to Huawei’s wearable lineup.
